22 Year Old American Otto Warmbier Dies After Spending 17 Months in North Korean Prison

Otto Warmbier, the University of Virginia student who was imprisoned by North Korea for over 17 months and was released last week while in a coma, has died, his family announced Monday.

 Reuters/Kyodo
Otto Warmbier was detained in North Korea for "hostile acts against the state."
Warmbier, a 22-year-old Ohio native who originally traveled to North Korea to take part in a tour offered by a Chinese company in 2015, was arrested by regime officials at the airport as he attempted to leave the country in January 2016. He was arrested on charges that he tried to steal a sign featuring former dictator Kim Jong Il.

Warmbier was convicted and sentenced to 15 years in prison in March 2016 and it is believed that he fell into a coma shortly after that. Warmbier was released by the North Korean government and he was flown home and hospitalized in Cincinnati last week.

Last Thursday, doctors announced that Warmbier had suffered severe brain damage and that he was unresponsive. One doctor said that his condition could be "best described as unresponsive wakefulness."

"It is our sad duty to report that our son, Otto Warmbier, has completed his journey home," Fred and Cindy Warmbier said in a statement. "Surrounded by his loving family, Otto died today at 2:20 p.m."

"It would be easy at a moment like this to focus on all that we lost — future time that won't be spent with a warm, engaging, brilliant young man whose curiosity and enthusiasm for life knew no bounds. But we choose to focus on the time we were given to be with this remarkable person. You can tell from the outpouring of emotion from the communities that he touched — Wyoming, Ohio and the University of Virginia to name just two — that the love for Otto went well beyond his immediate family."

The family also thanked the doctors at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center for doing all they could to help their son.

"Unfortunately, the awful torturous mistreatment our son received at the hands of the North Koreans ensured that no other outcome was possible beyond the sad one we experienced today," the parents stated. "When Otto returned to Cincinnati late on June 13th he was unable to speak, unable to see and unable to react to verbal commands. He looked very uncomfortable — almost anguished. Although we would never hear his voice again, within a day the countenance of his face changed — he was at peace. He was home and we believe he could sense that."

Although the North Korean government claims that Warmbier's coma was a result of botulism and a sleeping pill, his family does not buy that excuse

Fred Warmbier, father of Otto Warmbier, speaks about his son's imprisonment in North Korea during a press conference in Wyoming, Ohio on June 15, 2017.

"Even if you believe their explanation of botulism and a sleeping pill causing the coma, and we don't, there is no excuse for any civilized nation to have kept his condition secret and deny him top-notch medical care for so long," Fred Warmbier told reporters during a press conference last week.

"North Korea is a pariah regime, they are brutal and they are terroristic," he added. "You can't believe anything ... We don't believe anything they say. We see the results of their actions with Otto."

Even though there is no hard evidence to show that North Korean officials had beaten or tortured Warmbier, doctors said that Warmbier showed no signs of having botulism. Additionally, Warmbier suffered extensive loss of brain tissue that suggests that he lost blood supply to his brain for an extended period of time.

According to The Washington Post, the University of Cincinnati Medical Center doctors said that Warmbier's condition is consistent with the signs of cardiopulmonary arrest and there is nothing from Warmbier's past medical history from before he went to North Korea that would have caused such an arrest.

However, Jordan Bonomo, a neurointensivist and emergency medicine physician at University of Cincinnati Health, said that one of the most common causes of cardiopulmonary arrest is respiratory arrest, which could be triggered by intoxication or traumatic injury.

Bonomo added that it is possible to have respiratory arrest resulting from an overdose of medication.

"He was kind, generous and accomplished," Sen. Rob Portman, R- Ohio, said in a statement after Warmbier's passing. "He had all the talent you could ever ask for and a bright future ahead of him. His passing today is a loss for Ohio and for all of us."

Commenting on Warmbier's death, Ohio Gov. John Kasich said in a statement that "this horrendous situation further underscores the evil, oppressive nature of the North Korean regime that has such disregard for human life."

President Donald Trump also issued a statement.

"Otto's fate deepens my Administration's determination to prevent such tragedies from befalling innocent people at the hands of regimes that do not respect the rule of law or basic human decency," Trump stated. "The United States once again condemns the brutality of the North Korean regime as we mourn its latest victim."

Finding True Happiness in a Relationship

INTRODUCTION:
Relationships like marriage, romance, live together or any of similar kinds can be sustained with a happy note if some of the secret rules are followed. Relationship is completely subjective and no clear cut rules can be executed on it, yet following certain guidelines may help proceeding happiness in a relationship.

Many of these, so called, rules are based on the life experience of many happy couple and also the observation of people. When two people get into relationships, many of them wish for lasting relationships. But pathetically, a good number of them go apart after a while, in search of new partners. Let us see the secrets that constitute long lasting relationships or ever remaining relationships.

Breakup and Divorce are not the Solution

When asked about the best possible way of resolving the issues in relationships or marriage, many people may comment that breakup or a divorce is the best possible method of putting an end to all the troubles in a relationships. It is the biggest mistake people commit.

The reason for increased divorce rate is analyzed as the mentality of people who even before getting into a relationship think divorce as means of solving possible issues in it. Divorce is never an option but it's the utmost decision to be taken in life only at an inevitable situation. Do not even think about a breakup or marriage whenever you confront with minor issues in relationships. Issues are just byproducts of the happiness experienced in the relationships.

No Perfect Relationships, but Perfect Situations

No one can be considered in a perfect relationship, how happy the couple is, as happiness in a relationship is just the happiness of the situations created by the partners. No relationship, as a whole, is destined to be jovial and satisfying. There can be moments of happiness and moments of struggles.
The couple who learns the secrets of balancing both happiness and struggles wins the life and enjoys the best possible relationship and life. When in tension or issues, many people may think that they are fated to fall in to wrong relationship, and at the same time ignore the possible chances of making each moments in life happy by understanding the partner a bit more and adjusting a bit more.

Never be Afraid or Make Him/Her Afraid
Another secret of happy relationship lies in being open and frank with the partner. Do not feel afraid to express you mind to the partner and never ever make him/her afraid of you to tell out the mind. When people communicate with each other many of the issues can be melted down. when issues are  kept in mind for several days, such can take the forms of anger, frustration, dislike etc., and get expressed in the most undesirable manners. Let the communication between the partners be a frequent element and no one should hold the words when he/she really wants to talk.

Love Defined is Respect and Care

You can just tell that you love your partner but can never express the love as it is. There is no emotion like love, but it comes as a package which includes, respect, care, share, dedication, forgiveness etc., express the emotions whenever possible to make the other person feel the intensity of your love. Do not be a miser in loving the partner and let your love be unconditional. It is rightly said that love is defined as respect and care. When the partner feels that you do not care for him/her or do not give him/her the due respect, the person may think of an alternative to you.

Always Support Each Other

Never ever leave your partner unsupported. Whatever be the opinions and ideas, know that you are the only one he/she can lean for support. When both of you are alone, you can argue among yourself on points you disagree with the other one, but in public both of you have only one mind. Holding the hands, especially when he/she is sad or broken, is helpful to convey you care for the person. Once you have decided to live together, then no questions of separation may arise, even in the opinions.

“I stayed because of my children” — Mercy Aigbe cries as she bares it all in new interview

Mercy Aigbe has finally bared it all in a new interview.. Just like Tonto Dikeh and Tiwa Savage, Mercy Aigbe spoke in an exclusive interview with Broadway Africa and she shared excruciating details on the messy scandal that have trailed her marriage with her husband, Lanre Gentry.

Recall, Mercy had earlier accused her husband of physical violence that has affected her sight and caused her to bleed internally from the physical abuse allegedly melted down to her on Sunday, April 16, 2017. Results she shared also claimed she suffered from a broken skull.

When she was asked why she came out to say her husband never touched her, she was quick to refute it. “I never for once came out to say that my husband did not beat me. The video people were referring to happened in 2013 when there were rumours of such and I did a video recording alongside my husband to debunk the claim. At that time I had to do it to protect his image and my marriage. I had to do a live video at that time”, she said.

Read the Interview below:

About Beating…

“He beats me consistently.” When probed on why she stayed that long after the consistent beating, Mercy revealed that she did because she wanted a home. “I stayed because I loved him and because everytime he beats me, he begs and gets family and friends to beg me. He promised regularly to change but he never did. When my husband gets angry, he gets physical, not only to me but to anyone. He has done that with my house help who reported him to the Police years ago.

“I stayed because of my children and because a lot of people look up to me. I was a role model of some sort and I really wanted to keep it together. I just wanted a home”.

Why she wants to leave now…
“It’s not like I wanted to walk away but I just feel like we need help. I spoke to my husband’s brother about it. I told him I was going to pack out for some time while my husband seeks therapy. I just wanted to feel safe, that is why I moved my things out. This last beating was brutal. I actually thought I was going to die”.

I’m Still Coughing blood
The Nollywood actress revealed that her husband broke her orbits which will necessitate a surgery for her to see properly. “I’m still coughing and sneezing blood even after three weeks”, she reveals how severe the injury inflicted upon her is.

My Husband Was Sleeping With a Girl
Aigbe also revealed that the last incident started few days before when she discovered that her husband was sleeping with a lady. A lady she claimed to be her friend whom she was close to. This was a regular attitude from her husband; a man she claims has slept with a lot of people close to her, even her PAs.

He confronted him and it led to a huge argument which was turning violent before she had to keep quiet.

He Kept Beating Me
On the day of the incident, Mercy had informed her husband that she was attending a burial of her colleague. After his hesitance, she explained that it would not be fair on the lady since she had promised to be there and even invited him to come along.
Mercy revealed that it was her refusal to go and pick her husband up while she was still at her designer’s place that brought the fury of the man on her. He was said to have driven there and started to beat her in the presence of everybody.

“Immediately, I opened the door, he kept beating me. I was begging him and asking why he was beating me. He said he would destroy my face such that no make-up would fix it and destroy my career. He was acting like someone who was possessed. I told him “Lanre, mo ma bi mo fun e” (translated as “I have a child for you).

 I agree that I am a fool

In the exclusive interview, the Nollywood star said she agrees that she was a fool for staying that long even with all the beating and humiliation. “I believed that a wise woman builds her home. That’s why I stayed that long”, she said.

About Cheating
“If he had shown a bit of remorse, maybe things would have been different. He went on saying that I cheated on him several times. I never cheated. That’s why I told him to come out with proof”, she said.

My Husband was in detention for over 7 months
“My husband was in detention for over seven months and I never left him or go anywhere. Why would I want to go now? He says all this is make-up. He is not showing any form of remorse and still sponsoring lies against me.

How to Stop a Masturbation Addiction (Getting in the Right Mindset) Part 2

1.Stop punishing yourself. Consider it this way: if you're constantly dwelling on the disapproval that some may feel about masturbating, then you're still thinking about masturbation all the time. Don't just trade in your masturbation addiction for another one — they're so closely related that you won't resolve anything. Instead, acknowledge that this has been a problem for you, but you will persevere to stop the impulse.

  • Remember, you're human, and humans masturbate. Some studies show that up to 95% of males and 89% of females admit that they have masturbated.[1] You'll feel less shame once you realize you are not alone.
  •     Resist the urge of sinking into despair by remembering the times spent feeling sorry for yourself when it could have been spent relinquishing your addiction.

2. Don't believe the myths about the harms of masturbation. If you want to stop your masturbation addiction, then you should do it for reasons that are personal and moral, not for reasons that are health-related. The only real health problem that can be caused is pain and rawness from chronic masturbation, but that can go away if you stop touching yourself so frequently. Here are some things that masturbation will not do to your body:
  •     Masturbation will not cause infertility, premature ejaculation, or impotence.
  •     Masturbation will not cause insanity.
  •     Masturbation will not cause blindness, or even eye floaters.
  •     Masturbation will not cause frequent urination.
  •     Masturbation does not affect facial hair, growth, facial features, kidneys, testicles,or skin problems, or cause any major physical issues! These are all myths.

3. Know that it will get better. If you have the faith that you can really find a way to stop your masturbation addiction, then you'll be able to do it. Maybe your goal isn't to stop masturbating completely, but just to limit your masturbation to a healthy amount, such as once or twice a day. That's perfectly fine, too. If you have the belief that you really can win this battle, you'll be much more likely to succeed than if you're constantly second-guessing yourself.
  •     That being said, there may be days when you have relapses. If you find yourself masturbating one day when you planned not to, don't think, "Oh, well, I've ruined this day anyway," and then continue compulsively masturbating for the rest of the day and then starting fresh the next. This is about as logical as thinking that you should eat an entire pie because you've had one cookie and have ruined your diet for the day anyway.

4. Know when to seek help. If you've tried everything and just can't seem to get your addiction under control, it might be time to tell someone else about your problem and ask for assistance. Don't feel ashamed, and remember that many people have similar problems like an addiction. Seeking help is a brave action, and most people you ask will see it as such.
  •  Ask your religious leader for guidance. If you belong to a church, consider asking your local clergy for help. Keep three things in mind: First, these people become part of the clergy because they're dedicated to helping their congregations. Second, they've probably already assisted someone with a masturbation addiction before. Lastly, they're bound by strict confidentiality. Request a private appointment with your priest, pastor, bishop, imam, rabbi, or other religious leader, and see if his or her advice can help you.
  •     Make an appointment with a medical professional. Counselors, psychologists and psychiatrists are all trained to help people with varying levels of addiction. Start by seeing a therapist in your area, who can assess your addiction and refer you to more specialized help if necessary. Several treatment options are available, from cognitive-behavior therapy to medication.

How to Stop a Masturbation Addiction(Staying Busy and Focused) Part 1

This Article will teach you how to stop masturbation by staying busy and focused and by getting in the right mindset.

Key Points
  •     Find an outlet by being creative, playing sports, or finding a new hobby.
  •     Make a plan for avoiding masturbation and limiting your time alone.
  •     Stop watching porn and install porn-blocking software.
  •     Stop punishing yourself and know that things will improve.
  •     Know when to seek professional help.

1. Find another outlet for your time and energy. Fill your life with engaging activities. The excitement of doing something different can help replace the urge to masturbate, and you'll have a go-to distraction next time you're tempted. Try some of these options:
  •     Be creative. The process of turning sexual urges into creative output (called sublimation) is something on which monks and sages have relied upon for centuries. Start writing, learn to play a musical instrument, paint, draw, or do whatever else makes you feel like you're doing something productive.
  •     Play sports. It takes discipline and persistence to excel at a sport. Develop an interest like running or swimming, or a group sport like soccer, football, basketball, or tennis. Also, any form of exercise will help you relieve tension, feel happier, and to make you focus on your physicality in a positive way. Yoga is another form of exercise that can help you feel more relaxed and less likely to feel the sudden urge to masturbate.
  •     Eat a healthy diet. Fruits and vegetables have healthy effects on the body and provide nutrients necessary to increase your energy to make you more active throughout the day. Minimize consumption of aphrodisiac foods, such as oysters, salmon, chili peppers, coffee, avocados, banana, and chocolate.
  •     Find a new hobby, or cultivate a skill. Learning something that takes a while to master can refocus your brain on the delayed gratification of achieving goals instead of the instant gratification of masturbation. Try skills like cooking, woodshop, archery, baking, public speaking, or gardening.
  •     Volunteer your time. Devote your energy to helping teens who've been less fortunate than you, such as working at a shelter, tutoring low-income students, cleaning up blighted areas, or raising money for a good cause. You'll get an altruistic feeling from helping others, and you'll have less time to stray from your goals.
  •     Get enough sleep. Urges to masturbate can be exceedingly strong, so make sure you have enough energy to fight those urges. Try to get at at least 8 hours of sleep. If you frequently forget to go to bed at a reasonable hour, set an alarm to remind you.

2. Make a plan for avoiding masturbation during your "go to" times of day. If you have problems before going to bed or in the shower, refrain from any temptation to masturbate. For instance, if it's a problem late at night, drop to the floor and do push-ups until you're too exhausted to do anything but fall asleep. If you find shower time too tempting, start using ice cold water only — you won't want to be in there for long; cold shower will offer the added benefit of saving you time and water.
  •     If you always masturbate when you get home from school, make sure to have a solid plan to stave off any boredom you may feel. If you have so little to do that your mind frequently wanders to sexual thoughts, occupy your schedule. You'll find it gets easier to avoid masturbation if you're too busy or tired to spare any energy for distractions.
  •     If you're tempted to masturbate in the morning, try to sleep with more than just one layer of clothing so touching yourself is more of an effort.

3. Limit your solitude. If you masturbate frequently because you feel lonely, find ways to be as socially engaged as possible. This means that you should join as many clubs or activities as you can, accept and give more invitations to people, and go out of your way to make more friends. If you want to date someone, consider asking a friend to set you up or join an online dating site.

  •     Another thing you can do is to limit the times when you are likely to be home alone. If you tend to masturbate in the hour or two before your parents get home from work, go for a walk during that time, or do your homework in a coffee shop.
  •     Even if all of your friends are busy, you can still limit your impulse to masturbate by going out in public. For instance, instead of watching the game at home by yourself, watch it at a sports bar. Even if you're not hanging out with friends, you will not be alone, ultimately having no time for masturbation.

 4. Stop watching porn on your computer. One of the reasons you may be masturbating so much is that you know that you can access porn within seconds if you desire. However, if you don't have the willpower to stop looking at the porn on your own, then you may have to take other measures to get the job done:

  •  Consider installing porn-blocking software on your computer. Of course you will know the password to bypass the blocking function, but just having it pop up will remind you of your priorities. You can also type a random password in a text file, copy and paste it when you enter your password and verify it, then delete the text file. Then, you will not be able to know the password of your own porn-blocker. This is the best way to keep you strong and spare you the struggle.
  •     If you have the tendency to masturbate looking at porn on the computer, try moving your computer into a room where others can see you.
  •     If you have a physical collection of porn, dispose of it ASAP.
  •     Get Help. Porn addiction apps such as Brainbuddy are designed to rewire your brain so you crave real connection instead of porn.

5. Be persistent and patient. Stopping a masturbation addiction won't hit you like a lightning bolt. It's a process that requires commitment, and you might make mistakes or relapse on occasions. The real struggle is persevering, so commit now that you won't let little mistakes stand in your way.
  • Set up a reward system. Bribe yourself to stay on-track with rewards for good behavior. For instance, if you can go two whole weeks without masturbating once, treat yourself to a small indulgence like a new game or an ice cream cone.
  • Reward systems are great; just make sure not to reward yourself with the very thing you're trying to conquer, which, in this case, is masturbating. If you say that you'll reward yourself with masturbation after a week of not doing it, then you'll only be turning masturbation into something that you really, really want even more.

Reno Omokri Reacts To Apostle Suleman Sex Scandal

Those condemning the Founder and President of Omega Fire Ministries, Apostle Johnson Suleman over his alleged romance with Canada-based singer, Stephanie Otobo have been urged to exercise patience as there can be smoke without fire.

A Former Special Adviser to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan on Electronic Media, Reno Omokri said this in reaction to the Sex Scandal involving the clergyman.

Recall that Otobo had recently accused the Edo-born fiery preacher of impregnating and abandoning her.

Following her initial allegation against the preacher, the Canada based singer has continued to release more intimate details about her alleged romance with Suleman.

However, Suleman has since denied the allegations levelled against him.

Reacting to the allegation, Omokri said Nigerians were too hasty in their judgement of the case.

Omokri who believes that Suleman may be innocent of the allegations said those condemning him should wait until he died before burying him.

In a post on his Facebook wall, Omokri wrote: “Some of you are here on facebook spitting venom on Apostle Johnson Suleman for an accusation whose veracity you are not sure of.

“I just read from a fellow on facebook who wrote a statement with a lot of ifs. You are filled with ifs and yet you are making judgments? Rather than give the man the benefit of the doubt, you start casting aspersions and slurs.

“Do not wait until it happens to you before you know that there can be smoke without fire. If you have too much bile and venom inside you, then unleash on corrupt politicians. But before you bury Apostle Suleiman, I will urge you to wait until he dies.

“Apostle Suleiman, I do not think you are guilty, but no matter the case, in good times and bad times I will stand by you!”

‘President Muhammadu Buhari returns today’

Barring any last-minute changes, President\ Muhammadu Buhari is expected to return to the country today, the Presidency has said. Buhari left the country on January 19, for medical vacation for which he had sought extension twice through a letter to the National Assembly based on doctors’ recommendation for more rest.

In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, yesterday, the presidency expressed appreciation to Nigerians from across the country and beyond for their prayers and their best wishes while the president was away.

The Archbishop of Canterbury, Most Rev. Justin Welby, yesterday visited Buhari in London, United Kingdom. The meeting took place in Abuja House. Buhari posted pictures of himself and his guest on his Twitter handle, @MBuhari on Thursday afternoon.

The President wrote, “Very pleased to welcome the Most Revd and Rt Hon @JustinWelby, Archbishop of Canterbury, to Abuja House this afternoon.”
Buhari was dressed in a golden yellow prayer gown with white skull cap while Welby was in black suit with clerical shirt and collar.

In a related development, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) has denied media reports that he said Nigeria Christians are wishing Buhari dead.

Some sections of the media had reported earlier in the week that SGF Babachir Lawal, during a prayer meeting in Israel for Nigeria, had criticised Christians for wanting Buhari dead.

A statement in Abuja yesterday by the Director Press in the Office of the SGF, Bolaji Adebiyi said the full text of the sermon could be found on the Facebook page of the SGF, where he called on Nigerians, irrespective of their religious affiliations to love one another, celebrate achievements of our leaders and desist from destroying our heroes.

“At no time, during the sermon, did the SGF castigate Christians in the negative manner reported in the story,” Adebiyi said.Meanwhile, the absence of the ailing president is generating mixed reactions in Abuja, the nation’s capital.

Ehiozuwa Johnson Agbonayinma, representing Egor/Ikpoba-okha in the House of Representatives, told The Guardian in Abuja that there is no need for Nigerians to be worried about the absence of the President.

Agbonayinma said that as a human being, the president can take ill and all that is expected from Nigerians are prayers for him to recover and return to his duties.

Ahmed Abubakar, a law student at the Kogi State University said there’s nothing to be worried about over his absence. However, Florence Idoga, a prison warder, expressed frustration over the lingering issue. According to her, the suspense is too much.

A petty trader, Mrs. Victoria Osiwere said: “Everyday, they keep postponing the date of the president’s arrival. What are they really hiding from us? We want to know the true state of health of our president.”

Meanwhile, there is tension in Anambra State over the planned pro-Buhari rally billed to hold in Awka, today with the branch of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) distancing itself from the event.

The State Secretary of APGA, Tony Ifeanya, yesterday condemned reports linking the party to the rally, warning that APGA has no hand and would not have any hand in such event.

YOU ARE WONDERFULLY AND FEARFULLY MADE

A crow lived in the forest and was absolutely
satisfied in life. But one day he saw a swan.
“This swan is so white,” he thought, “and I am so
black. This swan must be the happiest bird in
the world.”
He expressed his thoughts to the swan.
“Actually,” the swan replied, “I was feeling that I
was the happiest bird around until I saw a parrot,
which has two colors. I now think the parrot is
the happiest bird in creation.” The crow then
approached the parrot. The parrot explained, “I
lived a very happy life until I saw a peacock. I
have only two colors, but the peacock has
multiple colors.”
The crow then visited a peacock in the zoo and
saw that hundreds of people had gathered to see
him. After the people had left, the crow
approached the peacock. “Dear peacock,” the
crow said, “you are so beautiful. Every day
thousands of people come to see you. When
people see me, they immediately shoo me away.
I think you are the happiest bird on the planet.”
The peacock replied, “I always thought that I
was the most beautiful and happy bird on the
planet. But because of my beauty, I am
entrapped in this zoo. I have examined the zoo
very carefully, and I have realized that the crow
is the only bird not kept in a cage. So for past
few days I have been thinking that if I were a
crow, I could happily roam everywhere.”
That’s our problem too. We make unnecessary
comparison with others and become sad. We
don’t value what God has given us. This all leads
to the vicious cycle of unhappiness. Learn to be
happy in what you have instead of looking at
what you don’t have. There will always be
someone who will have more or less than you
have. Person who is satisfied with what he/she
has, is the happiest
person in the world. That's
how we are us human beings and always be
proud to be your self

OVERCOMING THE DECEIT OF THE DEVIL//By Praisekingsblog

I came around after God has passed his judgement on Adam and Eve. These were the simple questions I ask them:
1. Were your eyes blind when God created you? For the Devil told them that their eyes will be OPEN
Genesis 3:5
KJV; God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

2. Now that your eyes are open, what do you see? (SHAME), GUILT FEAR, DOWN CASTED, ever since your eyes have been open have you become like god?

3. In what image were the both of you made?

Genesis 1:26
KJV: And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness:
For the Devil had earlier told told them they will be like gods.

Now the lesson is this since you start obeying the devil how many peace have you find how joyful are you? For moses would say I preferred to suffer with my fellow Jew than to enjoy the pleasures of Egypt /sin for a while. The world's joy is for a while but the joy that comes from knowing the Lord Jesus Christ brings peace and joy in the holy ghost, serving the Lord. Are you still ruled by you selfish ambitions. Colossians 3:1 say
1
KJV: If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

2
KJV:Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

Be determine today to obey God. For Jesus told Satan it is written
Matthew 4:10

KJV: Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

Make this scripture your determination this year.

See 11 Things That Shows Recession Is Almost coming to an End- FG

The reasons stated in the report are summarized as follows:

1. Over-Subscription of FG’s Eurobond.
According to the report, government targeted $1 billion but got $7.8 billion in one week, which has confirmed the confidence level of the international investment community in Nigeria’s economic reform agenda.

2. Growth in non-oil sector of the economy.

The report states that agriculture grew by 4.54%, crop production is at nearly 5% (its highest since the first quarter of 2014) and the solid mineral sector averaged about 7% during the third quarter of 2016.

3. The Anchor Borrowers Programme (ABP) of the Central Bank of Nigeria.

The programme substantially raised local rice production in 2016 (yields improved from two tonnes per hectare to as much as seven tonnes per hectare, in some states) and produced a model agricultural collaboration between Lagos and Kebbi states.

4. The Fertilizer Intervention Project.

According to the report, the project involves a partnership between the federal government and the government of Morocco, for the supply of phosphate. It is on course to significantly raise local production, and bring the retail price of fertilizer down by about 30 percent.

5. Take-off of the newly established Development Bank of Nigeria (DBN).
With an initial funding of US$1.3bn (provided by the World Bank, German Development Bank, the African Development Bank and Agence Française de Development), medium and long-term loans to will be available for Micro, Small, Medium-scale Enterprises (MSME) for job creation.

6. A new Social Housing Programme.
The programme is kicking off in 2017. The ‘Family Homes Fund’ will take off with a 100 billion naira provision in the 2017 Budget. (The rest of the funding will come from the private sector).

7. More than N800 billion released for capital expenditure in the 2016 budget.
The report claimed that this is the largest ever capital spending within a single budget year in the history of Nigeria. These monies have enabled the resumption of work on several stalled projects – road, rail and power projects – across the country.

8. Implementation of the Social Investment and Empowerment Programme (SIP).
All the four components of the SIP, the report noted, have now taken off. It described the SIP as the largest and most ambitious social safety net programme in the history of Nigeria, with more than 1 million beneficiaries so far: – 200,000 N-Power beneficiaries, 23,400 Government Enterprise and Empowerment (GEEP) Scheme beneficiaries, 1,000,000 Homegrown School Feeding Programme (HGSFP) beneficiaries, and ongoing Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) payments across nine pilot states.
It said:

9. Strategic Engagements with OPEC and in the Niger Delta
According the report, the engagements have played an important part in raising expected oil revenues. Already, Nigeria’s External Reserves have grown by more than $4 billion in the last three months.

10. Collaboration with China.
President Buhari’s April 2016 visit to China, has unlocked billion of dollars in infrastructure funding. Construction will begin on the first product of that collaboration, a 150km/hour rail line between Lagos and Ibadan, in Q1 2017.

11 The National Economic Recovery and Growth Plan (NERGP).
The Federal Government’s medium-term Economic Plan, is due for launch in February 2017, and will chart a course for the Nigerian economy over the next four years (2017 – 2020),” it stated

12. The continuous increase in the foreign reserve despite the presence of recession

The bitter truth is whether they like it or not, recession will soon be over,

Whether Magu is confirmed or not, the anti-corruption crusade will go on,

Whether PMB contests or not, APC will still win in 2019,

Read What Amosun Has To Say About His Visit To Buhari In London

One of the few people reported to have visited President Muhammadu Buhari in London where he is spending his medical vacation, Ogun State governor, Ibikunle Amosun, has finally opened up about his visit.

There has been controversy over a picture showing Mr. Amosun and the president in the United Kingdom, amid allegations an old image was edited to make it look recent.

However, on Monday at an event at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Abeokuta, Mr. Amosun told journalists that he indeed visited the president in London.

The event at the library was a climate change knowledge immersion workshop organised by the Federal Government in conjuction with the World Bank.

“Yes it is true I visited our president in London and he is doing fine. If you ask me pointedly whether I saw him or not, yes I did and that is the only thing that I can say. And of course you can see he is very well, he is okay. So I don’t know what else you want me to say,” Mr. Amosun said.

Asked of the condition he found the president when he visited, t‎he governor said he was not in the right position to talk about his health, saying such should be left to his spokesperson who were already doing that.

“I am not one of the spokespersons of Mr. President; so it will be out of place for me to talk on that. But then, they are doing their job and you’ve listened to all that they have said,” Mr. Amosun said.

Moral Ethics behavior of Good Home Trained Person

Memory Verse: 1Corin 14:40Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues. Let all things be done decently and in order.

”.

Text: 1Timothy 5:17-18 (The holy Bible) Version.

17 Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.
18 For the scripture saith, Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn. And, The labourer is worthy of his reward.

Introduction:
Moral Ethics refers to a set of rules that describes acceptable conduct in society. Ethics serve as a guide to moral daily living and helps us judge whether our behavior can be justified.
Ethics refers to society’s sense of the right way of living our daily lives. It does this by establishing rules, principles, and values on which we can base our conduct. The concepts most directly associated with ethics are truth, honesty, fairness, and equity.

Moral and ethical behavior expected from a person that has a good a good training are:
1.    Good conduct towards Elders
How to handle elder is one of the issue that every good parents are to address in the up-bringing of their children. Prov.22:6 God expect younger once to treat Elders with great humility 1pt 5:5. For example;

a.    If you see an Elder with an heavy load you shouldn’t be told to assist before you do so.
b.    Stand up for an elder when he/she do not have seat.
c.    Greet an elder first before he/she greet you.
d.    Give way for an elder when both of you meet in a narrow way. Etc.

It is unethical for workers and ministers, seeing their pastor carry heavy load and pretends not seeing it. These load could be physically or logically; logically in the sense that the pastor is engage in several works in the church. People with good moral ethics are expected to assist to help their pastors in order to make the work of God easier for them.
Others rebuke their pastor and speak ill of them and called this boldness. But it is lack of home training.
By the virtue of your pastor’s office is an elder even such is a child you can give birth to. Therefore if he does something wrong, prayerfully bring it to his notice. Heb.13:7, Gal.6:7, Phil.4:10-12

2.    Anti-social behavior
It very common among Christian to be disorderly in public places and even in the church. This aptitude show lack of spiritual and home training:
a.    Rushing for food or chair in a large gathering.
b.    Littering the environment with waste.
c.    Reckless talk and lack of good table manner.
d.    Driving against traffic and braking traffic laws.
e.    Improper dressing of any kind. Deut.22:5, 2Corin3:2, Phil.316-18

                         Questions
1.    How do you relate with those God have put over you?
2.    Mention some ways God expect us to treat elders
3.    How does home training affect the church today?

‘Nigeria Will Stop Fuel Importation By 2019’ – Kachikwu

Mr Ibe Kachikwu, the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources has said that Nigeria will stop importing refined petroleum products by 2019.

Kachikwu made the disclosure at a public hearing on the review of petroleum pricing template for Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) organised by the House of Representatives on Tuesday in Abuja.

He said that within two years, the Federal Government revived refineries that were non-functional to contribute about eight million out of over 20 million litres of petrol consumed in the country daily.

He explained that the Federal Government initiated a model which attracted foreign investors to partner with the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) to repair the country’s refineries within the two years period.

“This has consistently served as a target for this government so that by December 2018, NNPC must be able to deliver on some of the terms given them, one of which is to reduce petroleum importation by 60 per cent.

“By 2019, we should be able to exist completely on the importation of petroleum products in this country.

“Cognisant of the fact that Dangote is building one refinery, we expect to have an excess situation,’’ he said.
The minister said that Nigeria must also have the capacity to stop exporting crude oil.

According to him, selling crude oil is not different from selling agricultural produce in an unprocessed manner.

“The world is leaving that, every member of OPEC is leaving that because of the pricing, volume and market challenges is now shifting from selling crude to selling refined petroleum products.

“That is what this country must do and there is a template we are working on.

He further said that the ministry intended to create an enabling environment that would promote local refining of crude oil.

“The issue is not giving licences to illegality, the issue is how do we ensure that we create an investment environment that pulls individuals from illegal creek activities to legal business activities.

“We are looking at modular refineries, about 60 licences were given out just before this government came in and none of that was utilised because it requires a lot of money, land and crude security.

“But now we are going out to identify refineries, get individuals who can build refineries on the same platforms where our refineries are and identify some key specific modular refineries backed up by foreign investments working with state governments.

“Hopefully this will address the restiveness you see in the Niger Delta,’’ the minister said.

On the possibility of reducing the fuel pump price, Kachikwu said there was no padding in the petroleum pricing template for PMS currently sold at N145 per litre.

According to him, 71 percent of the cost is for the production and freight, 18 per cent balance is covered by depot charges and retailers margin.

“In other words the storage tanks, the amount you get by verge of operating a filling station takes another 18 per cent, the output of those is already taking you to roughly about 90 per cent.

“The transportation is less than 10 per cent; we probably can do better, the templating is an insignificant 1 per cent or 2 per cent but that’s not where the problem is.

“The problem is with foreign exchange rate. There are two key elements in the template, how much you buy it is internationally fixed, it is not a Nigerian issue the cost of foreign exchange is a monetary policy issue.

“So at the time we did the template the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) monetary policy was N245, that was the basis upon which we calculated the pricing, today N305 is the exchange rate.

“And what we have tried to do is to ensure that anybody who sells us foreign exchange follows basically the instructions of the CBN in terms of the amount,’’ he said.

Apostle Suleman Gets Invitation To White House, To Meet Donald Trump

The Founder and President of Omega Fire Ministry Worldwide, Apostle Johnson Suleman has sent his warm appreciation to Nigerians, Africans and the world in general for their exceptional show of love during his recent encounter with the Department of the State Security (DSS).

Suleman in his thank you message during the kick-off of this year’s edition of the annual ‘The Ebenezer’ programme to mark the ministry’s 13thanniversary, said:

“I’m grateful to all. I never knew I was so loved. For the first time ever, fellow Nigerians behaved like Americans. Nigerians naturally have business-like mentality but I was shocked that on this particular issue, 90 percent of Nigerians spoke with one voice, saying enough is enough.

We were not fighting any government, we just declared our stand that we are not cowards and we cannot be cowed by fear. I was so shocked at the level of strength and courage that I had throughout the period.

And the courage I surmounted was aided by the love and exceptional concern shown me from all over the world. From over 70 nations, I received a lot of phone calls and text messages from people showing their love and compassion. I got messages of love from different people that I have never even met. I got up to 18,000 different text messages. I read and read. The solidarity was overwhelming. I was moved to tears,’ states the man of God.”

Furthering, Apostle Suleman said,

“One thing that first moved me was when I got to Abuja to see the DSS, the crowd I saw almost made me to go into hiding. The crowd was so massive that they were ready to take bullets on my behalf. It moved me.
The love shown was not just about me but for what they believe in and it gave me so much courage and made me to realize that I was not alone. I’m not taking it for granted, that’s why I’m saying thank you to all. I have to confess that I’m yet to recover from that show of affection. I therefore want to enjoin Nigerians that in whatever situation that we find ourselves, they should keep hearing our voice and I want them to know that one day, things would be fine.

Meanwhile, the firebrand cleric will be visiting the White House, the American seat of power, in March. According to a reliable source from the church, Apostle Suleman’s planned visit was on the invitation of the Mayor of Washington.

It was gathered that during the august visit, the man of God will have a prayer session with both the Mayor and the president of the United States, Mr. Donald Trump.

The invitation, the source notes, was in recognition of Suleman’s selfless service and commitment to humanity and delivering souls.

The Ebenezer programme of OFM started on Wednesday 8th of February, 2017, with people from 32 countries of the world arriving Auchi, the headquarters of OFM worldwide. This year’s programme themed ‘From Glory To Glory’ will end on Sunday 12th.

Also, the church is warming up for the birthday celebration of the matriarch of the ministry, Reverend Dr. (Mrs.) Lizzy Suleman on Sunday, February 26th 2017, although the birth date is February 28th.

Prophet Who Predicted Jonathan’s Defeat Says What Will Happen To Buhari, Agbaje

Osun State-born Prophet, J.K. Hephzibah, otherwise known as Baba Peculiar, who predicted the defeat of Nigeria’s President Goodluck Jonathan in the presidential election has disclosed that the President-Elect, General Muhammadu Buhari needs fervent prayers from Nigerians in order not to die in power like President Umaru Yar’Adua.

The respectable cleric made this known on Saturday, April 4, 2015 in Lagos while addressing national issues.

According to Hephzibah: “One of my seven-point messages to the president-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari, that is been packaged to be released during my miracle night in Lagos in a few days time is that Nigerians should pray for President Buhari in order to avert his death.

“I saw the new president in my vision being kept somewhere for most of his followers to rule this country.”

Baba Peculiar, in his predictions, further said Buhari, as loved by many, is not the messiah to save this country.

He said he would just rule for a period of time to pave the way for God’s chosen person that will take Nigeria to the Promise Land.

The cleric added: “I see Professor Yemi Osinbajo ruling this country, while General Buhari will just be there like a ceremonial head.

“In fact, Osinbajo also needs to be careful because he would be assassinated by an ex-military Head of State.

“God told me he is giving the mandate to Jimi Agbaje of PDP (Peoples Democratic Party) in Lagos State, but the power that be in APC (All Progressives Congress) will try to upturn the election in their favour and if care is not taken, this may lead to crisis.”

The notable prophet, in his conclusion, urged all men of God to pray for Buhari in order for him to complete is term.

“I implore Nigerian men of God to avoid being used by politicians.

“By doing so, they are playing God and the consequence will not be palatable,” said Hephzibah.

"BOKO HARAM IS CURENTLY BROKE"-– UN

The destructive Boko Haram insurgency group is currently plagued by financial difficulties, the UN Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs, Jeffrey Feltman, has said.

Feltman stated this while briefing the Security Council on the UN Secretary-General’s Fourth Report on the threat the group poses to international peace and security efforts to “check and roll it back” on Tuesday

The UN envoy also noted that Boko Haram was under intense military pressure, but warned against undermining its capacity to launch fatal attacks.

“ISIL-affiliate Boko Haram is attempting to spread its influence and commit terrorist acts beyond Nigeria.

“And Boko Haram remains a serious threat, with several thousand fighters at its disposal.

“It is, however, plagued by financial difficulties and an internal power struggle, and has split in two factions,” Feltman said.

While the previous reports on the subject had focused on South East Asia, Yemen and East Africa, Libya and Afghanistan, the fourth report focused on Europe, North Africa and West Africa.

It noted that ISIL had conducted a range of attacks in Europe since declaring in 2014 its intent to target the region.

Some of these attacks were directed and facilitated by ISIL personnel, while others were enabled by ISIL providing guidance or assistance or were inspired through its propaganda, it said.

The report stated that while the military offensive in Libya had dislodged ISIL from its stronghold Sirte, the group’s threat to Libya and neighbouring countries persists.

“Its fighters, estimated to range from several hundred to 3,000, have moved to other parts of the country.

“ISIL has increased its presence in West Africa and the Maghreb, though the group does not control significant amounts of territory in the region.

“The reported pledge of loyalty to ISIL by a splinter faction of Al-Mourabitoun led by Lehbib Ould Ali may elevate the level of the threat.”
Following the increased military pressure, Feltman said ISIL is now on the defensive militarily in several regions, but was also adapting to military pressure by resorting to covert communications such as the ‘dark web’.
“Although its income and the territory under its control are shrinking, ISIL still appears to have sufficient funds to continue fighting,” he warned.
Feltman noted that ISIL relies mainly on income from extortion and hydrocarbon exploitation, even though resources from the latter are on the decline.
According to him, UN Member States are concerned that ISIL will try to expand other sources of income, such as kidnapping for ransom, and increase its reliance on donations.
“ISIL is adapting in several ways to military pressure, resorting to increasingly covert communication and recruitment methods, including by using the ‘dark web,’ encryption and messengers,” he warned.
The report also noted some of the measures taken by Member States and the UN, stressing the need to develop sustained and coordinated responses to the grave threat posed by ISIL and associated groups and entities.
Feltman said that there were 19 universal counter-terrorism conventions and protocols, as well as related regional instruments on international terrorism, and relevant UN General Assembly and Security Council resolutions.
“But we need to do more, as Member States continue to face significant challenges to ensure effective international cooperation,” he said.
He warned that foreign terrorist fighters leaving the conflict could pose a grave risk to their homeland or to the countries they are travelling to or transiting through, such as Iraq and Syria’s neighbours, as well as countries in the Maghreb.
“Ultimately, it is the spread and consolidation of peace, security, development and human rights that will most effectively deprive terrorism of the oxygen it needs to survive,” he concluded. (NAN)
